San Antonio based fast food operator, Whataburger, will join the list of F&B providers at San Antonio International Airport (SAT) when it opens an outlet at the Texas gateway early next year.

Opened by F&B concessionaire, Paradies Lagardère, Whataburger’s outlet will be located in Terminal A’s foodcourt and will feature a custom art wall to honour San Antonio landmarks.

It will also boost the local economy by providing jobs for more than 50 staff, or as Whataburger refers to them, ‘family members’.

“We are excited to welcome Whataburger to the airport family. We listened to what our customers wanted and they asked for the famous orange and white stripes of Whataburger,” said San Antonio Airport System’s director of airports, Jesus Saenz.

While Ed Nelson, president and CEO of Whataburger, enthused: “Bringing Whataburger to our hometown airport is a great way to serve fans and introduce our freshness and big flavours to visitors. We’re thankful to city leaders and Paradies Lagardère for making it possible.”

Whataburger has been headquartered in San Antonio since 2009 with almost $3 billion in annual sales.

“It’s an honour to deliver the iconic Whataburger brand to the San Antonio International Airport for travellers to enjoy,” said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO, Paradies Lagardere.

“We have built great relationships with these outstanding partners and appreciate their efforts to make this vision a reality”.

Paradies Lagardère will start hiring for the new restaurant in the spring of 2022. For information on competitive benefits, salaries and more, visit www.paradieslagardere.com/careers.
