Diptyque, Sandqvist and Teenage engineering are just a few of the brands that will be on offer at the Marketplace in Stockholm Arlanda Airport’s Terminal 5 when retail-tech company Co-X launches the unique retail concept Depart.A.Mental in the first half of 2025.
Depart.A.Mental is an innovative concept store that makes it easier for brands to have a presence in a physical environment through a retail-as-a-service set-up, where they pay rent for a period of time and gain access to retail space, staff and signage.
The 300 square metre store, which will open at the Marketplace in Terminal 5 at Arlanda on March 20, will feature a carefully selected assortment of fashion, beauty, technology, accessories and lifestyle products.
According to Swedavia, the range combines established classics with new, exciting brands that are rarely visible in traditional retail environments, and travellers will find a mix of premium products and personalised service.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming Depart.A.Mental and Co-X to the Marketplace,” enthused Charlotte Ljunggren, Swedavia’s director of marketing and commercial development.
“The venture is unique and innovative and will bring a vibrant and ever-changing retail experience in line with our commercial strategy.
“The concept delivers a mix of products and services that appeals to different customer segments and offers a fun and inspiring shopping experience in line with Swedavia’s target group pledge to our travellers.”
The Arlanda shop will feature international brands, such as Diptyque and Nothing, as well as Swedish favourites such as Ahlvar Gallery, Sandqvist and Mantle.
Swedavia notes that Depart.A.Mental will offer a carefully curated selection of niche and cult-favourite brands, with a focus on innovation and quality.
These, it says, include technology-oriented Teenage Engineering and Void Watches, sustainable and stylish Sleepers and Residus, as well as beauty brands such as Skinome and Selahatin.
The shop will also offer unique services such as a beauty bar for on-the-go beauty care, making the shopping experience both practical and luxurious.
Behind Depart.A.Mental is Co-X, a Swedish retail tech company that offers a new retail experience, combining digital innovation with a physical retail presence. The shop at Arlanda builds on the successful concept that was launched at Westfield Mall of Scandinavia in April 2023.
“Depart.A.Mental is about more than sales. We create a meeting place where consumers can discover both established and new brands in an inspiring environment.
“Arlanda is the perfect platform for our next expansion – a global hub with unbeatable brand exposure,” says Clara Lindsten, COO of Co-X.
Depart.A.Mental will open at the Marketplace in Terminal 5 at Arlanda on 20 March 2025.
