Dublin Airport achieves new carbon reduction milestone

Dublin Airport has achieved Level 4+ status in ACI’s Airport Carbon Accreditation programme, placing it among the top 13% of airports globally for carbon management.
Operator, daa, notes that the achievement marks a significant step forward in its sustainability journey.
“Achieving Level 4+ of Airport Carbon Accreditation is an important validation of the real progress being made at Dublin Airport,” enthuses daa’s sustainability director, Andrea Carroll.
“It reflects years of sustained effort by our teams and our partners and shows that ambitious climate targets can be matched by delivery on the ground. This achievement strengthens our commitment to responsible growth and to playing our part in addressing climate change.”
Achieving Level 4+ (the second‑highest level currently available in the programme) provides independent verification of Dublin Airport’s long‑term commitment to measuring, managing and reducing carbon emissions in line with recognised climate science.
Importantly, Dublin Airport has now reached this milestone, building on the ambitions outlined in its ESG strategy and reflecting sustained progress across energy efficiency, emissions reduction and collaboration with on‑airport partners.
The transition to Level 4+ was underpinned by robust carbon data collection, the delivery of targeted energy‑saving and emissions‑reduction measures across airport operations, and close collaboration with airlines, ground handlers and other partners operating at the airport.
The achievement forms part of daa’s wider commitment to sustainability and climate action, with daa targeting net zero carbon emissions across its own operations by 2050, with significant emissions reductions by 2030.
Continued investment in electrification, energy efficiency, renewable energy and low‑carbon solutions across Dublin Airport will play a key role in helping the gateway achieve its zet zero goals.
