Munich Airport believes that the dining experience awaiting travellers in its Terminal 1 Pier will set new benchmarks in terms of quality and comfort.
The five restaurants are operated by the airport subsidiary Allresto Flughafen München Hotel und Gaststätten GmbH.
“We have developed a range of modern food and beverage concepts that combine high-quality products, sustainability, appealing designs, and the highest level of service,” enthused Munch Airport’s chief commercial officer, Dr Jan-Henrik Andersson.

“This will make Terminal 1 Pier a feel-good place that reflects our ‘Bavarian soul’ philosophy.”
The new outlets include popular Munich restaurant Käfer – which at its downtown locations is said have offered “exquisite cuisine”, trust, and an unmistakable Munich lifestyle for decades – and Cucina Popolare, which it is boldy claimed reinterprets Italian cuisine.

The other new outlets are Münchner Leibspeise, which combines international cuisine with Munich delicacies; the modern, nutrition conscious dean&david; and the ODEON by Käfer offering a concept that combines urban bar culture, modern delicacies, and deli accents in an international airport setting.
The name ‘the ODEON deliberately alludes to Munich’s Odéon Square as a place of culture and elegance in Munich.

Set to open on April 13, the new T1 Pier provides additional capacity for up to six million passengers per year, with the building currently being of Bavaria’s largest infrastructure projects.
It extends over 360 metres into the west apron and covers a total area of around 95,000 square meters, including an area in the current Arrivals Module B of Terminal 1.
