Aberdeen International Airport’s sixth annual Midnight Runway Run on Saturday night raised more than £65,000 for two local charities.
Almost 400 participants took part in the 4km run along the airport’s illuminated runway, which as usual was held in partnership with CHC Helicopter.
This year’s event supported AberNecessities and Fersands and Fountain, two organisations providing vital services to families and communities across the region.
Robert Paterson, head of operations at Aberdeen International Airport, said: “We’re pleased to see another strong turnout for the Runway Run, which has become a much-anticipated event in our calendar.
“It’s a great way to bring people together while supporting causes that make a real difference locally.”
The 2025 event was supported by: Avi Alliance, Ace Aviation, NATs, Alpha Fencing, GJ Services, Cirrus Workspaces, ABM, APCOA, Stagecoach (official transport partner), Northsound (official media partner), Signs Express (official award sponsor), Abermedia, and Yellow Balloon Films.
CHC helicopter captain Ryan Broadhurst, who founded the event, added: “It’s always rewarding to see the community come together for this unique experience.
“The atmosphere on the night was fantastic, and we’re grateful to everyone who took part or helped behind the scenes.”
