Suriname’s Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport, more commonly known as Paramaribo-Zanderij International Airport (PBM), has introduced Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) technology.
The rollout, delivered in partnership with Ink Innovation’s local partner Wintel N.V., equips the airport with a modern, shared infrastructure platform that integrates directly with airline Departure Control Systems (DCS) operating across the newly renovated terminal.
As the sole operator of PBM, Airport Management Ltd has been working to align the airport with international standards and prepare for long-term passenger growth.
“With the deployment of Ink CUPPS at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport, we are establishing the core foundation of our passenger touchpoints from kerrb side to aircraft side door,” enthused Vijay Chotkan, CEO of Airport Management Ltd.
“Our partnership with Wintel N.V. has allowed us to introduce Ink’s ‘Fit for Purpose’ technology that significantly advances our current operating environment, ensuring a more efficient and enjoyable travel experience for all passengers.”
Sky High Dominicana has already migrated and is using CUPPS and FlyAllWays has completed CUPPS certification and is operational on the platform.
GOL, Copa Airlines, Caribbean Airlines, KLM, and Surinam Airways are in the certification pipeline. Once certified, airlines gain full interoperability with all CUPPS-compliant software at PBM and access to additional services, including Ancillary Payments.
