The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, together with the CEO of VINCI Concessions and president of VINCI Airports, Nicolas Notebaert, have inaugurated the new central atrium of the Las Américas International in Santo Domingo.

The €14 million upgrade is part of VINCI Airports’ “modernisation and optimisation plan” for the gateway to improve the passenger experience and offer, what it calls, “the best welcome to the Dominican Republic”.

The renovated central atrium showcases an enhanced commercial offering as well as a number of new dining options for passengers.

Global airport operator, VINCI Airports, notes that in addition, the outbound immigration and security facilities have been relocated and modernised in order to improve processes and passenger experience.

Las Americas International Airport is the main gateway to the Dominican Republic.

Notebaert enthused: “The good recovery of air traffic in Las Americas airport demonstrates the effective co-operation between VINCI Airports and the public authorities of the Dominican Republic.

“Along with our 250 airline partners globally, we will keep supporting touristic development. Modernising Las Americas airport is an important step of our long-term commitment”.
