HOSPITALITY NEWS PASSENGER FACILITATION

SAT initiative to allow airside access to some non-ticketed visitors

San Antonio International Airport has launched its new SAT Pass programme allowing a limited number of non-ticketed visitors an opportunity to meet and greet passengers post-security at the airport.

The gateway has introduced the innovative new scheme by asking passengers, “Have you ever wanted to surprise your loved one at the gate with flowers, welcome home a soldier from deployment at the gate or grab a quick bite with a friend before boarding?”

It notes that the process to apply for a pass is quick and easy, with online requests possible up to 24 hours in advance of someone travelling.

“This pass is designed for anyone who wants to spend additional time with a traveller,” stated the airport’s public relations manager, Tonya Hope.

“We listened to our travellers and community members. We feel Valentine’s week is the perfect time to launch this free new service. We shared information about the new programme with our travellers and included the message on some sweet treats for Valentine’s Day.”
