“We are very pleased that the new hotel will be managed by Strawberry. The hotel will be a strong addition to already existent hotels at the airport and an important meeting place at the largest airport in Sweden.”
According to Swedavia, there is a great interest in the market for hotel development at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
“This is a very good day. We are given the opportunity to manage what will become the largest airport hotel in the Nordics,” noted Strawberry owner, Petter Stordalen.
“But for us, this is not only about being able to offer another hotel. This is about contributing to the continued development of Arlanda as an airport and positioning as an attractive airport.
“Fundamentally, a great international airport as Arlanda is crucial for global competitive trade and industry- and a growing business market.”
The hotel will include a large congress hall that allows different events and meetings, with room for 1,400 people and a conference centre with capacity for around 400 guests.
It will have a restaurant with several different concepts and social areas. As well as a specially designed green and lush outdoor area for relaxation in the hotel’s courtyard.
The airport notes that the full-service hotel will be located in direct connection to Terminal 5, with five-minute walking distance to SkyCity, when it opens in the first quarter of 2029.
