Share

iGA Istanbul Airport has a new acting CEO today in the shape of Selahattin Bilgen, after the sudden departure of Kadri Samsunlu on Friday.

According to the airport operator, Samsunlu, who served the airport for six years, left by mutual consent with immediate effect.

It notes that he had been at the helm of the airport since its opening in 2017 and “has made a valuable contribution to the airport’s success”.

For now, iGA’s chief financial officer (CFO) Selahattin Bilgen has been appointed by proxy as the new acting CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport.

The Turkish hub is confident Bilgen will work on strengthening iGA İstanbul Airport’s “already powerful position in the aviation industry with dedication and will deliver positive results by improving execution”.

It says that as a long-term insider of one of the leading airports in the world, Bilgen is familiar with the industry and understands iGA İstanbul Airport’s future potential and its key role as a global transfer hub for millions of travellers across the globe.

The Executive Board notes: “We want to thank Samsunlu for his valuable contribution over the last six years, and we have every confidence that we will continue to work together during the coming period, to further strengthen our company. We are excited to embark on this new and prosperous chapter.”
