Salvador Bahia Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, reports that it closed the second quarter of 2025 with “positive operational results”.
Between April and June, the Brazilian airport handled approximately two million passengers, representing a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Year-to-date, over 4.2 million people passed through the airport – 11% more than in the first half of 2025.
It also handled 14,435 commercial flights during Q2, 7.4% more than during the corresponding period a year ago.

According to the airport, its performance reflected its growing route network, highlights of which include the resumption of flights to Panama City by Copa Airlines and the announcement of GOL’s new connection hub, adding 44 weekly departures to the airline’s network in Salvador.
As a result, GOL now serves destinations such as São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Natal, Vitória, Maceió, Recife, Fortaleza, Campina Grande, and Petrolina. Meanwhile, LATAM strengthened its routes to Porto Alegre and Rio de Janeiro.
VINCI’S GLOBAL AIRPORT NETWORK
The VINCI Airports network, which includes Salvador Bahia Airport, handled over 159 million passengers in the first half of 2026.
Between April and June, 85.1 million passengers were recorded across the network’s airport despite the impact of geopolitical factors in certain markets – such as the conflict in the Middle East and tensions between China and Japan.

The group’s performance was bolstered by the broad geographic diversification of its operations and the resilience of airports across different regions of the world.
In Europe, airports such as Belgrade, Edinburgh, and Budapest, as well as its Portuguese gateways maintained a growth trajectory driven by expanded flight networks, strengthened international connections, and rising demand for leisure travel and transatlantic routes.
In the Caribbean, airports in the Dominican Republic saw significant growth as North American and Latin American airlines increased their flight offerings.
Meanwhile, in Cape Verde, the launch of new connections to European destinations contributed to increased passenger traffic, reinforcing the network’s strong performance in strategic markets.
