As part of American Airlines’ ongoing commitment to Miami and Miami International Airport (MIA), the airline is adding more than 600 home-based reservations jobs.
American currently has 200 new representatives in training, and a goal to hire more than 400 in the next couple of months, bringing the total of home-based reservations agents to nearly 800.
These team members will join more than 1,500 new team members hired at Miami International Airport in 2021.
American is Miami’s hometown airline, offering up to 360 daily flights to 140 destinations operated by more than 12,500 locally based team members. Last year, it launched six new international destinations and 11 new domestic routes from MIA, resulting in the largest operation in the history of the hub.
Miami-Dade mayor, Daniella Levine Cava, says: “MIA is proud to be American Airlines’ home airport as they continue to invest in our community and create jobs for our residents.
“It is thanks to partners like American and their commitment to our community, even during the hardest times of the pandemic, that we have been able to recover economically.”
While the carrier’s vice president for Miami operations, Juan Carlos Liscano, notes: “At American we’re incredibly proud of our results in 2021 and this year we’re looking forward to another record-breaking year, made possible by the outstanding team that we have here at MIA.”
