Busiest summer in history of London Luton Airport
More than 5.5 million passengers used London Luton Airport (LTN) this summer, making it the busiest and most successful period in the airport’s history.
The UK gateway is also quick to point out that despite the record passenger numbers, its operational performance “remained consistently strong”, with more than 80% of passengers passing through security in less than five minutes.

And it believes that its performance was reflected in customer feedback, with four out of five passengers rating their experience at the airport as very good or excellent, with many praising the airport’s simple and friendly experience.
Airport CEO, Alberto Martin, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many people choosing to travel through London Luton Airport this summer, making it our busiest and most successful on record.
“This reflects the growing confidence passengers have in LLA, our airlines and the range of destinations served. It is particularly pleasing that, while welcoming record passenger numbers, we have continued to deliver the simple and friendly experience our passengers have come to expect.”
