VINCI Airports acquires stake in Edinburgh Airport

Global airport investor, VINCI Airports, has acquired a 50.01% stake in Edinburgh Airport in Scotland.

It will now work in partnership with Global Infrastructure Partners on developing the gateway, which supports 28,000 jobs in Scotland and contributes £1.4 billion a year to the Scottish economy.

Sir John Elvidge, chairman of Edinburgh Airport, said: “We are pleased to welcome VINCI Airports to Scotland and recognise that this is a significant vote of confidence in Scotland, and the future of its capital city airport.”

While airport CEO, Gordon Dewar, said:

From VINCI Airports’ perspective, Edinburgh becomes the latest airport to be added to its global airport network, which currently includes Belgrade, London Gatwick and Lisbon in Europe, Osaka and Kansai in Japan and Santiago in Chile.
