Second hand store with a difference coming to Helsinki

Share

Finavia and the Finnish family firm Relove believe they are bringing a unique second-hand concept store to Helsinki Airport as it will combine recycling culture with a popular café.

According to the Finnish airport operator, it will be the world’s first second-hand shop at an airport and will feature high-quality second-hand clothes and accessories and a popular local café.

“It is one of this year’s most anticipated novelties,” says Nora Immonen, Helsinki Airport’s director of commercial operations.

“We are constantly developing the airport’s selection, following trends and passengers’ wishes. Now we have signed an agreement with the Finnish company Relove, which brings a second hand store to Helsinki-Vantaa.”

Relove will located in the former departure hall of Helsinki-Vantaa, which has become part of the gate area due to an ongoing development programme.

In the autumn of 2023, the lobby will get a completely new look when the renovations are completed and the new services have opened.

Finnish architecture, wooden design and unique brands create an experiential meeting place in the centre of the gate area. Finavia says it will offer opportunities to have fun and refresh during visitors time at the airport.

“We are proud that the renewed Helsinki-Vantaa responds to passengers’ preferences and constantly offers something new, which we have worked hard to achieve,” adds Immonen.

“Helsinki Airport was recently awarded Europe’s best airport in its size category, which is a great achievement and proof that our customers are satisfied with the end result.”
