Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport has double cause to celebrate this month, recently earning Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) and completing the €2 million upgrade of its central area in partnership with duty free operator, Dufry.
The new-look central area is entered immediately after the passport control and includes an expanded and modernised duty-free shop, immediately followed by the Tesla Square where passengers are offered a relax zone, a new restaurant and a coffee shop, and a gaming zone.
Furthermore, the airport notes that there is a new zone for parents and children next to gates A5 and A6 while unlimited Wi-Fi is accessible across the entire area.
Dufry now boasts a larger 876sqm centralised walk through duty-free shop offering a broader selection of exclusive domestic and foreign brands.
A new bar-restaurant and coffee-shop are also included in the central area, where the gaming zone is said to be a place where “passengers can spend some time with latest free video games available or in the gadget shop”.
The revamp took five months to complete and forms a key part of VINCI Airports’ transformation plan for Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
