New AOCC on radar of Poland’s new multimodal hub

Port Polska has shared some initial designs of the state-of-the-art Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) for Poland’s new super hub.

It will provide a shared working environment for airport operational teams, airlines, government services and other organisations involved in the airport’s day-to-day operation.

Access to up-to-date operational data will allow the teams responsible for airport operations to identify and respond quickly to delays, disruptions and emergency situations.

The aim is to minimise their impact on airport capacity, operational continuity and passengers’ journeys.

The AOCC is one of a number of projects being delivered under contracts covering the design of facilities supporting the airport.

The programme for the airport’s supporting infrastructure also includes the design of a number of other facilities required for its operation.

These include an air traffic control tower, a police station, a multi-storey car park, facilities for airport rescue and firefighting services, and catering facilities.

The Port Polska project is designed around the integration of air, rail and road transport. This will enable passengers to transfer more easily between different modes of transport and provide more efficient connections within Poland and to international destinations.

The new airport, together with the first section of the High-Speed Rail network, is scheduled to open to passengers in 2032.
