Record revenues and profits up at Munich Airport

Share

Munich Airport Group has reported a 2025 net profit after taxes of €169 million – a substantial increase of €105 million on the previous year.

Driven by growth in passenger numbers and flight movements, revenue reached a new record of nearly €1.8 billion, while operating profits before interest and taxes improved significantly as well, amounting to €219 million, up nearly €200 million on 2024.

According to the company, the increase in annual revenue can be attributed to the strong traffic growth at Munich Airport in 2025 when a total of 43.4 million passengers passed through the Bavarian hub.

The number of aircraft movements also saw positive growth, with more than 337,000 takeoffs and landings, which is 3.1% higher than the previous year.

The main driving forces behind this growth were once again European and intercontinental traffic.

Indeed, traffic to European destinations and the Mediterranean region rose by around 4% while long-haul traffic showed particularly strong performance, increasing by approximately 9% compared to 2024.

The airport notes that its expanding airline and route network now means that it is served by 96 carriers, which between them fly to 232 destinations worldwide.

Air cargo volumes, boosted by regular freighter flights from five different operators, also increased in 2025, rising 10% to 340,000 tonnes, surpassing pre-crisis levels by 2%,
