Hahn Airport in Germany handled around 1.9 million passengers in 2024 – 12% up on the previous year.
Formerly known as Frankfurt-Hahn under the ownership of Fraport AG, the airport is now officially branded as TRIWO Hahn Airport.
“In terms of passenger numbers, we are continuing our pleasing double-digit growth,” says Ruediger Franke, managing director of TRIWO Hahn Airport.
“The airport had already increased its passenger numbers by around 21% to around 1.7 million in 2023.”
The five most popular destinations from Hahn Airport in 2024 were London-Stansted, the vacation island of Mallorca, Catania in Italy, the Albanian capital Tirana and Alicante in Spain.
“Hahn Airport is prepared for further growth in passenger numbers,” notes Franke. “That is why we are investing in the restructuring and modernisation of the terminal, among other things.
“For example, the security check will be centralised. This will improve passenger processes even more and we will benefit in the future, when passenger numbers increase.
“We are also pushing ahead with digitalisation and investing in self-drop-off terminals. These enable faster passenger processing and will also reduce waiting times for passengers.”
