The retail mix at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Mrshall Airport (BWI) has been enhanced with the opening of two new outlets operated by the Marshall Retail Group (MRG).
MRG, a WHSmith company, believes that the new additions – District Market and America! – in Concourse D will appeal to passengers as both provide a little slice of Baltimore and neighbouring Washington DC.
Indeed, MRG, states that it drew its inspiration for District Market from the surrounding Baltimore communities with the brand-new retail space providing travellers with regionally themed gifts, souvenirs, logo apparel, gourmet and artisan foods, travel essentials and an array of neighbourhood brands.
They include Charm City Chocolate, PopSations Popcorn, Woot Granola, Otterbein’s Cookies, Fisher’s Popcorn, Jody’s Popcorn and Route 11 Potato Chips.
“District Market is more than a one-stop shop, it offers BWI passengers regional products that connect customers to the local Baltimore communities,” enthused Michael Wilkins, chief executive officer of Marshall Retail Group.
“Curated with the savvy traveller in mind, customers at District Market are guaranteed to find the perfect item to complete their trip.”
In addition to the all-new retail space inside BWI, Marshall Retail Group nots that America! provides “a modern, convenient destination offering an assortment of carefully curated merchandise reflecting the ever-changing American trends in the market”.
By design, it says, the America! store engages visitors by conveying a regional sense of place, set against a contemporary, patriotic backdrop while providing an eclectic mix of products from the current administration, branded apparel and novelty gifts, White House souvenirs and collectibles.
