New brand identity for Edinburgh Airport

New brand identity for Edinburgh Airport

Edinburgh Airport has unveiled a new brand identity which it says reflects its position as Scotland’s busiest airport and ambitions for the future.

The new brand is said to mark the next stage in the airport’s development, “building on its recognisable identity and years of success while giving it a more modern and confident look that reflects its new ownership and its exciting future”.

The new identity comes as the airport continues to grow its connectivity and begins a £500 million first phase of a multi-year investment programme to transform the airport campus and improve the passenger experience, and forms part an important part of Our Future, the airport’s long-term vision for continued growth and its role as Scotland’s main international gateway.

The airport worked with Edinburgh-based marketing experts Lane to develop the new identity, continuing its approach of working with local suppliers and organisations wherever possible.

The revamped brand retains recognisable elements of the existing Edinburgh Airport identity, including the iconic air traffic control tower, while modernising the look and creating a stronger, more flexible brand for use across the airport, digital channels and international markets.

Mark Johnston, the nee chief executive of Edinburgh Airport, said: “It’s incredibly exciting that one of my first actions is to launch a new brand that reflects the enormous success Edinburgh Airport has experienced and our ambition to build on it.

“We’ve grown to become Scotland’s busiest airport and cemented our position as Scotland’s gateway to the world, and our brand needs to reflect the airport we are today and where we want to go next. This is another important part of Our Future.

“We have ambitious plans for the airport and for the role we play in connecting Scotland with the world and this new identity reflects that ambition.”
