London Stansted ready for busy Easter holiday period

Share

London Stansted is gearing up for one of its busiest periods of the year with an anticipated 1.5 million passengers set to travel through the terminal over the Easter holiday.

Between April 5 and 21, around 780,000 passengers are expected to depart from Stansted, while the airport will also welcome 720,000 inbound travellers.

The Easter break coincides with the launch of the airport’s summer flight schedule, which kicked off at the weekend, offering more destinations across Europe, North Africa, and beyond.

Six airlines – Ryanair, Jet2, British Airways, Transavia, Air Algérie, and SunExpress – are introducing 14 new routes as part of their summer timetables, giving travellers even more choice for their next getaway.

Ryanair launched the first wave of new routes in March, adding flights to the coastal town of Reggio Calabria in Italy, Bodrum in Turkey, and Linz in Austria.

More new flights are set to launch this week, including Ryanair to Lübeck (Germany), Air Algérie to Algiers (Algeria), and Transavia to Rotterdam (Netherlands).

The airport’s chief operating officer, Jonathan Fowler, noted: “The Easter holidays are always a busy and exciting time, and our team is fully prepared to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, whether they’re jetting off for a beach holiday, a city break, or spending time with loved ones.”
