KING KHALED’S TERMINAL 5 TO GET NEW HOLD BAGGAGE SCREENING EQUIPMENT

Share

Egis has been awarded a contract by Riyadh Airports Company to provide it with design and project management consultancy services as it looks to replace the hold baggage screening (HBS) machines in Terminal 5 at King Khaled International Airport.

Egis has been supporting development and expansion of Saudi Arabia’s second biggest airport for the last five years.

According to Egis, its team will provide design, and project and cost management services to remove the existing HBS machines serving four check-in islands in the terminal, and the installation, hook-up and commissioning of the new detection equipment.

Its aviation director for the Middle East, Jacques Khoriaty, says: “Through this new contract Riyadh Airports Company is restating confidence in our extended capabilities on both airside and terminal projects and full-range expertise from consultancy, design, procurement support, and project and construction management.

“We are delighted to provide continued guidance and support to our client with a specific focus on safety and operational efficiency.

“Terminal 5 will remain operational during HBS machines replacement and our consultants and our engineers will closely coordinate with all contractors to make sure operations run smoothly until final commissioning.”
