Brisbane Airport operator, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC), has admitted that it is “ecstatic” at today’s Australian government announcement that its international borders will reopen to fully vaccinated travellers from February 21.
By fully vaccinated, the government clarifies that it means all those who are double-vaccinated with a recognised COVID-19 vaccine.
According to BAC, today’s announcement gives much-needed certainty to airports, airlines, tourism operators, and everyone involved in the international visitation industry.
More importantly, it states: “Today is an extraordinary day for families and friends who have been apart throughout the pandemic, as they can now reunite on their own terms with their loved ones.
“After a challenging 24 months, BAC is more than ready to move forward with its partners to rebuild tourism across the state and reconnect Queensland to the world.”
