Aberdeen International Airport has held its biggest ever Runway Run raising thousands of pounds for charities.

Nearly 400 runners were able to take on the four kilometre Runway Run lit up runway on Saturday night.

It is the fifth time the Runway Run – organised in partnership with CHC Helicopters – has been held, and this year saw £50,000 raised for charities AberNecessities and Forget Me Not Club.

Robert Paterson, head of operations at Aberdeen International Airport said: “I am delighted we have delivered an amazing event raising some vital funds for both charity partners.

“A huge thank you to our volunteers and everyone at CHC Helicopters for their hard work and congratulations to every runner that took part in what was a truly unforgettable event.”

Sponsors this year included Ace Aviation, ABM, Alpha Fencing, ATPI, NATs, Hampton By Hilton and Munro’s Travel.
