Expanding route network to ensure busy winter at Frankfurt Airport

Expanding route network to ensure busy winter at Frankfurt Airport

New flights to Kuala Lumpur, Sharjah, and Agadir and expanded services to Abu Dhabi ensure that 231 destinations in 92 countries will be served from Frankfurt Airport during the 2026/27 winter schedule.

The total, which will served by a combination of 80 airlines, equates to some 3,400 departures and around 650,000 seats per week.

In Europe, German carrier Condor (DE) will continue its service to London-Gatwick (LGW), with up to three daily flights during the winter schedule. The route was launched in the summer.

Likewise, DAT (DX) will continue its summer service to Linz (LNZ) in Austria during winter, with up to three daily flights.

In North Africa, services to Morocco are expanding. Discover Airlines (4Y), a member of the Lufthansa Group, will offer winter flights to Agadir (AGA) for the first time, connecting this coastal city with Frankfurt twice weekly.

In addition, Royal Air Maroc (AT) will extend its seasonal service to Nador (NDR) to year-round operations.

Elsewhere, in the Middle East,  Air Arabia (G9) will launch daily services to its home base in Sharjah (SHJ) in the United Arab Emirates from December 15.

On November 4, Condor will launch a new daily service to Abu Dhabi (AUH). The flights will be offered in partnership with Etihad Airways (EY) and will continue to Bangkok (BKK).

And from December, Etihad itself will provide an additional daily service to AUH. This means passengers at FRA will have the option of up to three daily flights to Abu Dhabi.

Condor will also operate daily flights to Tel Aviv (TLV) over the winter, continuing a service launched in the summer.

Travellers heading to Asia can take advantage of Lufthansa’s new service to Kuala Lumpur (KUL). LH is adding the Malaysian capital to its route network, offering non-stop flights five times per week from the start of the winter schedule.

Air China (CA) will continue its summer service to Beijing-Daxing (PKX), supplementing existing flights to Beijing Capital Airport (PEK).

China Southern (CZ) will also continue serving Ürümqi (URC) twice weekly as a stopover on its service to Guangzhou (CAN). Air India (AI) is also increasing frequencies to Delhi (DEL) and Mumbai (BOM) for the winter schedule, adding one weekly flight to each destination.

This brings the total to 13 weekly flights to Delhi and six to Mumbai.

For Central Asia, Qanot Sharq (HH) and Centrum Air (C6) will continue to provide additional connections to Tashkent (TAS), complementing the existing service offered by Uzbekistan Airways (HY).
