LAS VEGAS MCCARRAN AWARDS $1.5 BILLION F&B CONTRACT EXTENSION
The Clark County Board of Commissioners has approved a seven-year, $1.5 billion extension to HMSHost’s F&B contract at Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport.
In return HMSHost, which now has a contract at McCarran until at least 2035, will invest in opening new and remodelled restaurant locations throughout the airport.
As a result, it claims that Las Vegas travellers will see more new and exciting restaurants in the future when visiting McCarran International Airport.
“With this approval from Clark County, HMSHost has the unique and enviable opportunity to build on the truly great partnership we have with McCarran International Airport and deliver the industry’s best dining experiences to Las Vegas travellers,” said HMSHost president and CEO, Steve Johnson.
“We thank the County Commission and airport team for this extension as we look forward to creating and opening these new restaurants together.”
Airport director, Rosemary Vassiliadis, noted: “We are extremely pleased to extend what’s been a longstanding and productive partnership with HMSHost.
“Passenger traffic at McCarran International Airport hit an all-time high of 51.5 million last year, our third consecutive year of record volume. Along with the brands our customers already love, we’re also seeking new and different food and beverage concepts and services to better support our expanding customer base.
“A mix of the familiar coupled with diverse new options will better reflect our standing as a leading international destination, and we’re confident the team at HMSHost will help us to achieve our goals, enhancing our customers’ experience along the way.”
Further planned developments will begin opening by 2021.
HMSHost’s current restaurants in McCarran include Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill, Las Vegas ChopHouse, Metro Pizza, PGA TOUR Grill, Ruby’s Diner, and Brookwood Farms BBQ among many others.
