First Natoo healthy food outlet opens at Frankfurt Airport

Lagardère Travel Retail partnership has opened its first Natoo hybrid store, which serves as a restaurant and health food shop, at Frankfurt Airport.

The outlet, located in Terminal 1A (airside) at the German gateway, has opened in partnership with airport operator, Fraport, and will followed by second store next month.

Natoo’s tagline is ‘Healthy all the way’ to reflect its health and environmental focus, which it says is fully aligned with consumers’ increasing demand for healthy and sustainable living and with the booming appeal of vegan and vegetarian meals.

According to Lagardère Travel Retail, Natoo’s menus are developed from high-quality ingredients that are exclusively sourced regionally to support local producers, economies and shorten the supply chain.

In addition to its meals offering, the hybrid Natoo concept includes a shopping corner where customers can find a selection of international food and lifestyle books, spices from the Spice factory and spice grinders. Organic ketchup by Curtice Brothers and ‘Gingo’ gin round off the retail offer.

Mélanie Guilldou, Lagardère Travel Retail’s executive vice president for food service and corporate, social responsibility, said: “I am thrilled to see the Natoo brand taking another step in its international development.

“Our colleagues in Germany have done a great job to adapt the concept, building on its key assets and localising it to meet the specific needs of travellers at Frankfurt airport. It is great to see how teams around the world can give the original Natoo a twist to further enhance it!”

The Natoo openings are the latest of many innovative developments driven by the food service business line in Germany, which is growing at pace. The team builds on existing partnerships and introduces new global concepts such as ‘Paulaner’, the first in Travel Retail, or ‘Natsu, a new sushi concept.

    Es ist schwer, gutes Personal zu finden, ich weiß. Aber die 2 Tische waren während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes ( 2 Std.) voll mit Müll,leeren Bowls und Flaschen. Im Abräumwagen waren keine Tablets zum Abstellen. Wir baten darum, den Tisch kurz abzuwischen, nichts geschah. Selbst als kein Kunde mehr an der Theke stand, bewegte sich nichts. Die Damen unterhielten sich angeregt. Eine kurze Schulung in Sachen Service und Gastlichkeit wäre angebracht.
