Share

Passengers in search of maps, travel books and other items related to present or future journeys can now stock up on these items at a new Dr Götze Land & Karte pop-up store at Hamburg Airport.

Located by Gate A17 for the next six months, the traditional Hamburg shop also sells souvenirs such as globes and compasses.

The company’s shop on the banks of Hamburg’s Inner Alster lake has become famous as Germany’s biggest specialist store for geographical products over the last 60 years.

“Dr. Götze Land & Karte is an institution in Hamburg, the place to go for literature and maps covering anywhere on the planet,” says Lutz Deubel, head of centre mnagement at Hamburg Airport.

“So, it really is fitting that there is now a branch at Hamburg Airport. Passengers can go to the new Dr Götze shop before departure to buy information about their destination, and while there they may find themselves inspired to more journeys of discovery.

“I am convinced that the new shop concept will prove popular with our passengers.”

The airport notes that its pop-up stores are designed to reflect the themes of trade, merchant houses and the warehouse district, with a bright and transparent feeling. They feature typical motifs from the city to communicate Hamburg’s unique flair.

The new look Pier includes quiet areas and “technically well-equipped” business zones, while bistro tables are designed to serve as communicative meeting points.

Holidaymakers, says the airport, can relax and read whilst business travellers can work efficiently at the neighbouring business workstations.
